Vintage Ford Muscle Car stolen

Prized cars should be well kept. An automobile shop owner (name withheld) residing in Perth, Australia, however, learned this the hard way as his vintage 1970 Ford muscle car was stolen from his shop this evening.

The more than three-decade old Ford Falcon GT 351 , which is one of the 300 cars produced in 1971 by the American company, is estimated to carry a hefty value of $600,000. The owner, however, was not aware of the hundred thousand dollars worth of the car.

According to the head investigator of the case, the people who took the muscle car were aware of just how much the vintage Ford costs. Moreover, the whole operation was accomplished well, thus, the police said that everything was done with much preparation.

“Someone spent considerable time to shift a number of other vehicles, also very expensive vehicles in order to steal this particular car,” said Sgt. Neville Dockery, who is the senior detective for the case at hand.

The inspector also added that since the Ford Falcon GT 351 was part of the limited units, this vintage high-performing car is indeed something worth keeping. Since the incident is relatively new, the thieves would probably hide the Ford somewhere safe instead of selling it right away, which could alert the authorities.

Stealing this prized car, however, also had an upside thanks to the serial number. As part of the limited edition, this car can never be registered again under a different name again.

“The car itself as in the serial number of the car is useless to the person who steals it, cos once it’s been stolen and listed as stolen the car can never be re-registered, so to steal the car would only be for parts value because to rebirth the actual car as a genuine GTHO can never be done once it’s been stolen.”

For now, authorities are keen in getting the car back to the rightful owner.
